Important Skills to Have for 2020
Skills I Have:
Coordinating with Others: I'd say one of my best skills is my ability to work with others. I would consider myself a likable person. Most people I meet tend to like me and I believe that is just because of who I am. Because of this, it allows me to work well with other people. I am one who is a team player and try to encompass that in many of the things I do. Working with others has always been a successful aspect in my life and it is a good trait to have moving forward.
Creativity: When it comes to creativity, I have been creative since I was a kid. My basement is still full of the thousands of Lego paces I used to have as a child. I used to create all sorts of things with my Lego's even without any directions. And once I built one thing I would take it apart and build something else. Those qualities have helped morph the person I am. Sometimes it can be hard to muster, but I believe that that creativity still lies in me today.
Skills I Need:
Negotiation: Although I am very good at working with others, sometimes I feel as if my negotiation skills could be better. Communication is very important and sometimes I struggle to get my perspective across. As I said before, I am a team player so I have no problem compromising with people but sometimes I go with the flow rather then speaking my mind. I think to combat this I will try and be more of a leader and let my point be heard. Not to say going with the flow is bad at times but I think my input can be beneficial, but only if I share it.
Judgement and Decision Making: This is something I have always struggled with. I'm very nonchalant person and sometimes that leads me to be indecisive. My judgement is not really too bad but the decisions I make or the time I make them is lacking. I'm always putting tough decisions off rather then facing them head on. In-turn, this always seems to come back to bite me in the butt. I think part of this problem is procrastination. To fix this I just need to reevaluate the way I approach problems and how to come to a decision. No more putting things off, till the last minute. Face them head on and focus on what I want to get out of the thing I'm deciding on.
